Pastor Coslow E. Holt, Jr.

A Respected Leader
Coslow E. Holt, Jr., is a native of Melville, N.C. He is the second child to the late Coslow Holt, Sr. and the late Adean Worth Holt. Pastor Holt graduated from Southern Alamance High School in 1969. After receiving his call to the ministry, he attended Union Christian Bible Institute in Durham, N.C., and Union Bible Institute in Burlington, N.C. Upon completing his studies, Pastor Holt was called to teach Christian ethics at UBI.
Pastor accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined Melfield United Church of Christ in 1976. During his tenure at the church, he sang on the gospel choir, served on the Usher Board, and taught in the Sunday School before becoming Superintendent. He was also called to serve as a deacon and was elected as its Chairman.
In 1985, Pastor Holt accepted God’s call into the gospel ministry. On April 14, 1985, he gave his initial sermon. He was asked to speak at Green Level UCC (now Green Level Christian Church) in June and again on the third Sunday in August. He was presented to the church as a candidate for the pastoral position in a regular church meeting in November and was elected as pastor at that meeting.
Pastor Holt has been married to his high school sweetheart, Donna Graves, for 37 years. They were blessed with a son, Coslow Adrain Holt, who have blessed them with two grandchildren. Pastor Holt is very active in the community and has served in the following organizations:

Pastor Holt loves God and God’s people, and since 1985 until the present time, he has demonstrated all the qualities of a true and dedicated pastor.
